Is offshore drilling the solution to our energy crisis?

In reality drilling is the slowest, dirtiest, and most expensive way to solve our energy crisis. Offshore drilling is not the solution to U.S. energy independence, and I am against opening parts of the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic oceans to oil and natural gas production.

Are oil drilling and coal mining harming the environment?

Oil drilling and coal mining are killing endangered wildlife, polluting rivers, creating smog over wilderness areas and blocking wildlife corridors in America's most treasured landscapes. We're not building a nuclear reactor here. We're not drilling a mile beneath the surface of the ocean with no plan in case something goes wrong.
